Please review the minutes from the last meeting and raise any concerns to the secretary, Reise Thompson or any committee member before 3rd June for approval at the next meeting.
Resolutions for 2024/25 season
1) Member fees - It was proposed that match fees and annual subs remain at the current levels.
2) Team proposals – To field 6 senior sides (2 Ladies and 4 Mens) and a Badgers team.
3) Budget approval – This was presented to the quorum and approved.
All above items were agreed unanimously by the quorum.
Amendments to the current training setup were in the agenda for the meeting, however, information was received by the committee the day before the AGM which prevented the original proposal from taking place. The alternative plans are to be discussed in further detail at the next committee meeting, of which all members are invited to attend on the 10th June at Wassell Grove.
2023/24 Performance report
M1’s finished in a strong position in the league despite a loss of midfield and forward players from the prior season. Will be seeking promotion next season.
L1’s were initially surprised by the competitiveness of the league after promotion last season but quickly established themselves and were able to offer debuts to some of our younger members.
L2’s fielded a team on all bar one weeks in the league which is a commendable effort. After Xmas, we saw a positive change in results for our Ladies team.
M2’s suffered through the loss of M1’s players but were able to afford junior players the opportunity to play to a high standard early in their playing careers. This season’s relegation allows the team to rebuild and recover.
M3’s finished comfortably mid-table which allows them to also build next season.
M4’s were at the whim of the rest of the club for availability resulting in a lack of stability within the team which led to a mixed set of results but also gave the opportunity for a number of junior players to make their senior debuts which is exciting for the future growth of the club.
2024/25 Teams
We are pleased to confirm that there will be an addition to the number of playing teams for the 2024/25 season.
We will be continuing to field 2 Ladies and 4 Mens senior sides as in the previous season.
We will be fielding an additional junior-focused “Badgers” team (A team based mainly of under 16’s but with a couple of senior players for stability and experience). The captain role for this is currently unfilled – please speak to our club captain, Sophie Atherton, if you are interested in volunteering for this role.
Election of new committee positions
Thank you to the previous committee for the hard work over the 2023/2024 season. Your hard work has allowed 112 of us to enjoy (unless you were part of the M2’s) another season of hockey.
Congratulations to those elected to committee positions for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.

This is a plan that will shape the future of the club so please get involved in the workshops. This will be discussed in future committee meetings which all members are welcome to attend.

The committee is working closer with Old Halesonians Association (OHA) to build on the relationship. OHA are running a number of events over the summer with relaxed rules on membership so feel free to attend any of the events with your friends and family.
Also, discussions are progressing with OHA around the possibility of an all-weather pitch being built at Wassell Grove. Updates to be circulated going forwards.
