Old Halesonians Hockey Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Claris as the club’s new Men’s 1st XI Coach

Old Halesonians Hockey Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Claris as the club’s new Men’s 1st XI Coach. Simon joins OHHC with an excellent reputation, bringing a blend of high-level playing experience, and a clear passion for developing players and building strong team culture.

Simon is a gifted player, who currently plays for Repton Hockey Club in EH Division 1 North, is widely regarded for his ability to score important goals and control the tempo of games. He brings with him a wealth of experience having previously represented England at U18 level and helped Stourport HC regain their place in the National League.

Simon’s appointment is part of OHHC’s continued commitment to raising standards, supporting player development, and ensuring the Men’s section has a clear, positive pathway; from training nights through to competitive weekend performance.
He will work closely with the wider coaching group and club leadership to develop a style of play that is organised, ambitious and enjoyable—while keeping the values and togetherness that make Old Hales such a strong community club.

Chairman Jake Brooke said “this is an incredibly exciting time for the club, and I am delighted to see such a talented individual agree to work with us. Simon will be a huge asset to Old Hales and will help us to focus on building a team environment that drives improvement week-to-week”
