Old Halesonians Hockey Club was founded nearly 40 years ago by ex-pupils of Halesowen Grammar School who wanted to continue to play hockey after they left school.

The school is now known as the Earls High School and the club still has links with the school as it does with all of the secondary schools in Halesowen. These links were further strengthened several years ago, when the Club entered into an agreement with Windsor High School to develop youth hockey in the Halesowen area, following the school's achievement of 'Sports Status'.

The junior section was founded in 1994 and has produced players who now represent the club in all of their Saturday teams. In fact on any Saturday, around one third of the players are ‘ex' or current juniors. Our coaching sessions are open to boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 16.

In 2004 , the Club became the third in the Country to receive Hockey England's 'Clubs 1st' accreditation, which carries with it 'Clubmark' accreditation from Sport England. This officially recognises the Club as being dedicated to providing a safe, efficient and child friendly environment for hockey, and builds on our longstanding committment to youth development and links with the local community.

We have won the Worcestershire boys under 11 championships ,regularly represented Dudley Borough in the Black Country Youth Games and have members in the Worcestershire Boys squads at U-14, U-16 and U-18 age groups, with some of those at U-14 and U-16 representing the Midlands.
